The Message is an audio and video sampling instrument with interactions modeled after the experience of using an analog TV remote created in MaxMSP.
Televised was a performance art piece that made use of The Message to explore eras of the "African-American experience," taking advantage of the temporal dysphoria that comes from samples being taken from a wide range of film and music history to depict the continuing, and what feels like never-ending struggle for Black American Civil Rights.
