MANGO was an Internet-of-Things toy designed to help China’s migrant workers maintain loving connection with their “left-behind children” while physically distant. The device gamified a shared task list, allowing for parents to assign challenges to their kids that require verification from their guardians so that they are able to maintain an active presence in their children’s lives at a lower cost. MANGO won the Intel “Internet of Good Things” hackathon at the Chinese University of Hong Kong: Shenzhen campus.
